Community, technology, and creating access - three things I leverage and embrace. As NationBuilder's Online Evangelist I help possible, future, and current users of members of other NB communities better understand community organizing principles while exploring ways they can embrace NationBuilder to enhance what they are already doing. I do this via collaboration and community building in trainings, panels, keynotes, online/offline discussions, Google Hangouts, and any other format where communities come to learn together. Previously, I led the most active social media team in the 2013 Los Angeles mayoral elections and was the Director of Communications for a local technology nonprofit. There I also mentored and coached 7th-11th graders using technology as a leadership development tool. I am part of the HuffPost and The Good Men Project blogger networks and in 2013 my social media team was named to the Los Angeles' Social 25 (25 most influential entities in social media). I have been a panelist and speaker on the topics of digital organizing, youth leadership development, and social impact organizations with groups like Voto Latino, the New Leaders Council, HOBY, and PorColombia. Most importantly, I am a pretend chef, amateur cyclist, and full-time rule breaker. Spanish: Organizador de NationBuilder trabajando con política y gobierno en America Latina y España. También trabaja con líderes y comunidades en el sur de la Florida, y con organizaciones dedicadas a la representación Latina en los Estados Unidos. Juan a facilitado talleres y charlas con Voto Latino, New Leaders Council, Hispanic Heritage Foundation, y mas. Su labor esta enfocado en el uso de datos, tecnología integrada, y estrategias “grassroots” para organizar y movilizar comunidades.
